The LSSA is a non-profit corporation focused primarily on legal education. Membership dues are $16.00 per year and membership is open to anyone presently employed, a student of or interested in the legal field.
Our activities include hosting monthly Learn 'n' Lunch seminars that feature speakers in the legal community and related areas. We also do a number of community outreach projects throughout the year. In the past we have held fundraisers for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, “adopted” a local family over the Christmas holiday to provide a meal and gifts for them, donated supplies to our troops overseas, and assembled over 30 Easter baskets for children of local families in need. In 2014, we established an annual scholarship for one Reading High School.
The LSSA also issues a monthly newsletter, The Legally Speaking. The Legally Speaking provides members with important information, such as details about upcoming meetings, educational articles, events, and other activities.
We hold our general membership meetings once a month, alternating betweenevening and lunch meetings to help accommodate the schedules of all of our members.
